Personal papers and some materials related to the estate of this Minneapolis grain merchant and founder of F.H. Peavey & Company, a family-held, Minneapolis-based grain merchandising and processing firm which was an outgrowth of an agricultural implement business located at Sioux City, Iowa. The collection includes diaries, books of notes and memoranda, financial statements and volumes, correspondence, a photocopy of Peavey's will, and miscellaneous papers. There is information about family matters, personal finances, the development of Peavey's business interests in Sioux City and in Minneapolis, and the Michigan Military Academy (Orchard Lake, Michigan). Correspondents include J. S. Meckling and J. Sumner Rogers.
